I had a plan. It was a good plan. I threw that plan out the window today.
The Routine
As you probably already know from my It’s All Fun and Games: Where Is the Sassy Sorceress? post, I have a schedule that I stick to. Blogs are written up a few days before I post them online. I take or find pictures to use and upload them to my gallery. Then, on Sundays and Wednesdays, I get all the pieces put together and share them with the world.
Today I had planned to share some of my favorite Twitch streamers with you all. Everything was coming together. The words, the links, all of it. But last night, I figured…why not just wing it for a change?
Improvised Writing
There’s no real reason for why I decided to do this. I’m not burning out. I have no shortage of topics to ramble about. But what I am, honestly, is just tired. Mentally, emotionally, and physically drained. And it has nothing to do with the self-imposed work schedule.
There have been a lot of changes and challenges I’ve had to deal with in the second half of this year. Getting back into blogging and streaming has contributed enormously to keep me sane through it all. But today I really just wanted to sit back, take my coffee and my laptop out onto the front porch, and enjoy a pleasant morning before the weather remembers what month this is.
What Do You Want?
I also wonder what you, the reader, wants to see discussed on this blog. What content do my followers on Twitch (http://www.twitch.tv/krisodell) want more of?
Do you want short stories? How about book or movie reviews? I already have plans to share some narratives and background stories of the tabletop characters I play. Would you like to know more about the worlds and NPCs from the games I run? What about the resources I use for my games?
See, this is what happens when I improvise my blog. I’m coming up with new ideas. But feedback from my readers is helpful, too.
