Blogging

So. Many. Blogs!

“Is it too early to retire, cash in my 401k, and be a blogger for the rest of my life?”

That’s how this started. Four friends on a group chat, bitching about work, getting older, and Monday in general. They said, “Do it!” So, here I am.

I still have the job. I still have the 401k. And now I have this fledgeling corner of cyberspace. What other misfit Gen-Xer can say that?

Oh, yeah. A lot of them.

Cooking blogs. Parenting blogs. Gaming blogs. Furbaby blogs. Finance blogs. Health and fitness blogs. Travel blogs. Fashion blogs. DIY blogs. Automotive blogs. Gardening blogs. Chances are, if you’ve hit one of these on a Google search, a Gen-Xer probably wrote it.

But this isn’t one of those blogs. It’s ALL of them. Life isn’t about just one thing, but the thousands of different things that blend together.

I am a 46-year-old single mother of three: one grown and on their own, one about to graduate and enter the military, and one getting ready to start high school. I have four cats and a husky. I live in a home owned by my mother. I have five half-sibs, only one of which I grew up with, and one who is young enough to be my grandchild. I work part-time in grocery, have a direct sales side-hustle, stream games online, and now I have this blog.

What can I say? I’m one of the first AD(H)D kids. I like to keep busy.

I’m nowhere that I thought I would be when I was 17 and fresh out of the public school system. I doubt many of us are. But for better or worse, I’m writing and you’re reading.

You might be the reader that takes a glimpse into my life and thanks a higher power that you have your shit together. Maybe you’re the reader that thinks *I* have my shit together. But most of you, I imagine, will simply see bits of themselves and understand that life is simply what we do with the circumstances we are given.

This is my life. It’s probably bits and pieces of your life, too. Let’s see what the picture this puzzle makes turns out to be, shall we?
