It’s All Fun and Games: Where Is the Sassy Sorceress?

Months ago, when I began to reformat this blog site, I mentioned that I would be covering more than just tabletop games. (The Adventure Begins) Today’s post is all about that “extra.”

The Other Gaming Hobby

Before the blog, there was a stream. A stream to share one of my other favorite hobbies: video games. I knew very little about it other than as something my kids were interested in. So, as any good gamer mom would do, I dipped my toes in it.

All I had was a chromebook, a PS4, a 4k tv, and an internet connection. That’s all I still have, actually. Nothing fancy. Just the basics. But it allowed me to share my love for some of the games I play.

Is it a coincidence that I started streaming when Mass Effect: Legendary Edition came out?

The Games

Of course, that’s what I began with – Mass Effect Monday. Then I added Dragon Age: Inquisition – Thedas Thursday. Over time, there was also Skyrim Sunday.

I haven’t completed any of them. At least, not on the playthroughs that I stream. I fell off the schedule. Life happened, and I would take breaks from streaming. Occasionally, I would navigate towards my PC games.

My PC is over ten years old. It still runs great, but it’s not fit for streaming. And a new desktop isn’t going to fall into my lap anytime soon, unfortunately.

Finishing What I Started

I knew when I began blogging again that the streaming would follow. So, I’ve experimented with timeslots and dates, and have found a place for that again.

I’m not going to make the mistake of running multiple games throughout the week. It’s too easy for me to get overwhelmed, so I’ll just stick to one at a time. I’ll finish my Mass Effect and Dragon Age playthroughs first. Maybe a few weeks of Skyrim before putting a pin in it and moving to a new game.

Skyrim is huge, y’all. It’s going to take a while to finish it without burning out in the process.

The New Schedule

My current plan is to stream on Mondays and Thursdays. Expect to see me at https:/www.twitch.tv/krisodell around 1:30pm Central. Streams will run around three hours, give or take 30 minutes.

I’m still going to be writing, too. Look for new blog posts right here on the Sassy Sorceress. My plan is to have them drop around noon on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Will there be bonus blogs and streams? When time allows, absolutely! Just make sure you’re following me on both platforms, or on my socials to get notified.

Is there more than just games? Oh, yes, Adventurers! Stick around. I have more to share with you in the weeks ahead.
